Tedeschi’s visit to Plymouth highlights support for small businesses

PLYMOUTH – Peter Tedeschi, former President and CEO of Tedeschi Food Shops and candidate to represent the 9th Congressional District of Massachusetts, continued his “Focused on Our Future” rolling rally today with a stop in Plymouth, where he discussed his business background and commitment to the region’s small businesses.

Sheriff Joe McDonald introduced Peter Tedeschi, telling the crowd how previous meetings with the Massachusetts Congressional delegation had yielded a response that there was “Nothing they could do.” McDonald went on to say that, “We have an opportunity to change that attitude,” and said Peter Tedeschi would be, “a strong advocate,” and, “a voice that will be listened to on Capitol Hill.”

In his remarks, Peter Tedeschi turned his attention towards the district’s small businesses.

“To everyone here who owns or operates a business, I want to say thank you. You are driving our economy. You are employing our families, friends, and neighbors,” said Tedeschi. “To everyone else in attendance today, I ask you to continue to support our local businesses. The best way to develop and strengthen our communities is to participate in them.”

Tedeschi went on to say, “Our current Congressman has a dismal 43/100 rating from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He has a 0/100 rating from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. I am proud to have just received their endorsement of NFIB in my campaign to send a business leader to Washington and make Congress work for you.”

This was the second of five stops Tedeschi will be making throughout the 9h District today.
