HYANNIS — Peter Tedeschi, a Republican candidate challenging incumbent U.S. Rep. William Keating, D-Mass., in the 9th Congressional District race, has joined the growing chorus of politicians condemning separation of children and parents at the nation’s southern border under the Trump administration’s zero-tolerance immigration policy.
“As a father and a grandfather, I cannot imagine the pain that children and parents separated at the border are experiencing,” he said in a statement issued by his campaign Monday. “I support a secure border, but breaking up families is cruel. Congress needs to get its act together to propose real solutions that secure our border in a humane way that reflects the values of our country.”
