Candidate for 9th Congressional seat submits necessary 2,000 verified signatures to Secretary of the Commonwealth
Peter Tedeschi, candidate for U.S. Congress in the Massachusetts 9th District, today submitted more than 2,000 verified signatures to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, Bill Galvin, to secure ballot access in the 2018 primary and general elections.
“On behalf of myself and my staff, I want to thank all of the dedicated volunteers who helped collect these signatures,” says Tedeschi. “This process was a great opportunity for us to get to know folks from every corner of the district, and we appreciate them giving us this opportunity to campaign to be their next Representative.”
All signatures were submitted to offices of the Town Clerk throughout the 9th Congressional District for verification. Congressional candidates are required to collect 2,000 signatures of voters registered within their district. The deadline to submit signatures for verification is May 8, 2018, and the deadline to submit verified nomination papers to the Secretary of the Commonwealth is June 5, 2018.
